I picked up my long awaited Red Lored Parakeet yesterday. He or She is 1 year old and was originally named "Patinko" but I changed it to "Plinko" once I got him/her home. Yes, yes, I know it's a game on the Price is Right but I liked it.
I visited Plinko at the Magnolia Bird Farm where he was purchased a couple days; maybe 3 or 4 days. I think that he actually recognized me when I got him home. He is already letting me pick him up and doesn't like anyone else in the family. He bit my brother Michael and made him bleed, making me feel bad of course. I stuck my hand in the cage to start the training and he just swooned over me. Licking and nibbling my hand he is very affectionate to me. I don't think he has learned people have 2 hands though and when I brought the other one around he took a good bite out of it. OUCH!
I wouldn't mind watching these two brothers "Bond"
